Management credits are one per device per 30 day period. Twelve periods are 360 days, not a calendar year. Data for RMS Connect and RMS VPN is separate: the first 5 GB per company is free, then 2 GB per credit converted to company data.

Worked examples

Three routers on a site you will manage for six months: 3 devices by 6 periods is 18 credits. Twenty gateways for a year of 30 day periods: 240 credits, bought in one order. A fleet of hundreds is one order too; for orders over 1,000 credits we call you during business hours to confirm the order before the code is sent.

Remote access on top: a company that will push 25 GB through RMS Connect in that time has 20 GB above the free allowance, which is 10 credits converted to company data at 2 GB each. The codes sold here are RMS credits; the data figure is there so the budget is complete.

How a pool runs down

Ten devices on Auto Extend each take a credit from the pool after every 30 day period, so the pool falls by 10 credits a period. A code for 120 credits covers them for 12 periods, then the pool is empty and a device whose credit ends goes offline in RMS until more credits are added.

Why 30 days and not a month

A credit is 30 days for one device, so twelve credits cover 360 days. Fleets kept under management all year need a thirteenth credit per device to reach 365 days.

Packages for long stays

If a device will stay under management for a year or more, a management package usually works out cheaper than buying 6 or 12 months of credits. We'll be adding RMS management packages to the shop soon. Until then, our guide What are RMS credits explains how credits and packages compare.
